It is a consumer quality instrument designed to measure moisture content in wood, paper, or concrete construction materials. The instrument allows the user to select one of four scales for different temperature ranges. A high temperature compensation feature is also provided for all scales except the 7.2%-22% scale which is compensated internally. A top-lighted display shows readings in both % moisture content and mm/cm water equivalent with .1% resolution from 7.2%-22%. An automatically controlled switch activates the meter when the probes are inserted into the material being tested and deactivates it after a period of non-use so that battery power is conserved and only used as needed. The instrument automatically compensates for ambient temperature, giving a more accurate reading. A special LED display shows moisture content readings on the front panel and includes an updated hygrometer function. The results are displayed on the backlit LCD screen while in use and can read moisture content from 7.2% to 40%. The built in lithium battery provides over 4 hours of continuous use between charges. The unit has a large backlit display for ease of use in dark environments.
